I am the owner of a Casio G-Shock watch, model DW5600.  When I bought the watch in May of 1989, I never dreamed I would have a work watch that would last 18 years in my line of work.  I am a U.S. Army Tanker.  I knew I would need a watch that would be able to stand a lot of punishment, and this is the product I selected.  Without a doubt, this watch is everything you say it is and more. 

I remember a couple times I have just been amazed at this watch. One time when I was getting out of my tank in Germany, I caught the band on the Tank Commanders hatch and it ripped the band right off. The watch fell down into the sub turret floor. If you do not know anything about tanks, it is the floor beneath the main floor that has wires and other things. Often the sub turret gets filled with leaks and other dirt when in the field. Our tank had a hydraulic leak and there was a few inches of hydraulic fluid in the sub turret floor. Well, my G-Shock fell into the sub turret and I thought it was lost. A few days later when we were cleaning  the tank, my loader said "Hey sir, here is your watch." I thought it was certainly destroyed with all the hydraulic fluid eating away at the materials, but to my surprise, it was in perfect shape.

Another time, I broke the band and the tank ran over the watch in the sand.  I was certain this time the watch was gone, but when I finally found it and dug it out of the sand, I again found it in perfect shape. 

For the last 18 years, this watch has been the best.  The biggest thing I cannot believe about this watch is that it is still running off the original battery.  I know you may think this is not true, but I never changed the battery. 

All of the rubber about the face of the watch is gone and it is just silver now.  I think the hydraulic fluid dried it out and it all cracked off.  But, it is still water resistant and keeps great time. 

I just wanted to say thank you for making such a great product and let you know I will never wear anything else on my wrist besides a Casio G-Shock watch when at work or in the field.
