SHOCK THE WORLD EVENT
On August 5, 2009, the worlds of media, technology, fashion and music descended on Wall Street in an unprecedented display of emerging timepiece advancement as Casio G-Shock's "Shock The World" tour landed in New York City. View the Cipriani Wall Street space.
In addition to releasing amazing new timepieces, G-Shock also announced a new shop-in-shop at the world's most famous watch retailer, Tourneau. Their flagship store located on legendary 57th Street in Manhattan now contains a G-Shock boutique that features a wide range of G-Shock styles and will become a must-visit destination for any watch connoisseur heading to the Big Apple. Once the news of the day had been revealed, it was time for the celebration to begin. The floor was cleared of chairs from the press conference and converted into a club atmosphere. On the perimeter of both sides of the room were showcases that featured the specific technologies and G-Shock collaboration watches for everyone to preview. To cap off the evening Kanye West took to the stage and performed an unbelievable hour long set to a packed house.
Over 1000 journalists, stylists and key influencers came out to celebrate CASIO G-Shock. Amongst those guests were nearly 300 members of the media from the most influential national trade, lifestyle, tech, and fashion publications as well as top tier online properties: Elle, Details, Glamour, Maxim, Style.com, Nylon, Complex, Wired, Fashionista, Marie Claire, Bloomberg Reports, Watch Time, WWD and Laptop were all in attendance. Thus far, 341 million impressions have been made with more to come.
